About Us
Nomadtika was established in 2005, born out of an industry need for high-end finishing skills in the installation of acoustic-rated wall coverings.
Since this time we have grown beyond a two-man-band, into a dedicated team covering acoustic appraisals, product recommendations, quantity surveying, construction tenders, colour/design consultation and of course, expert installation.
We offer a superior service through our uncompromising commitment to quality finishing, stringent quality assurance processes and attention to detail. We take pride in giving our clients the peace of mind that comes with completing their projects without hiccups and within their timeframe and budget. In order to maintain such high standards, a positive culture is paramount in such a boutique business. All team members participate in regular company toolboxes where the tagline is “We are constantly striving to be more efficient and provide a greater level of service.” We are continually working on process and systems to ensure we remain on top of our game.
The business prides itself on a “family first” motto. The families who rely on Nomadtika are also its backbone and know that if the chips are down their other team members will be right there to help out. Our staff take immense pride in working with Nomadtika and the family culture helps ensure we have very little staff turnover.
Damon founded the business in 2005 and has 20 years in the Construction Industry. A degree in Urban Design was followed with hands on trade experience. Tiling, Concreting, Pool Building and Carpentry all gave Damon the skills he needed to turn his attentions to Acoustic and Decorative works. Whilst he rarely puts on his toolbelt these days, his ability to problem solve and specify detail has firmly ensconced him in the Auckland market as a go to for Architects and Specifiers. Strong ties to Autex ensure that new materials are in good hands as he will assist in creating install methodologies that will stand the test of time. Bespoke and difficult projects are his forte and his passion for quality and detail are evident in the constantly evolving environment that is Nomadtika.
Michael has a long relationship with Nomadtika having started part time work while studying Commerce at University in 2008. The culture appealed to him as did the multifarious nature of the role. In 2014 he came on board Full Time to assist in internal business development and sales. His keen eye for detail and continual quest for improvement in all facets of the business have seen him move from Junior Estimator/Sales Assistant to his current role of Contracts Manager. He is a driver of systems improvement and champions the Nomadtika values of quality and service. He doubles as the teams tech wizard and applies a “never say die” attitude to all situations.
Kyle has worked with Nomadtika for nearly 10 years and has progressed from a Junior Installation role to his present position as Project and Training Manager. All current install staff have been trained under his banner and he prides himself on delivering projects “On time and on budget”. The majority of the Showcase works for Nomadtika are hand crafted by Kyle, and his commitment to quality is evident in our clients high regard for his service. Kyle is an expert installer and assists Damon in developing all new Installation Systems for the business.
Mitchell started working for Nomadtika while on school holidays in 2015. Currently studying Quantitity Surveying he has been working as an Estimator since early 2018. Mitchell aims to provide even greater structure and pricing systems for the business.
Denise has worked for Nomadtika since mid 2017. Her meticulous nature has assisted in further developing the Accounts/Administration role. Denise fits in well with the team at Nomadtika and her no nonsense approach helps to keep the office boys in line.
I really enjoyed working with Damon and the team at Nomadtika on this project. Their technical advice and assistance with specification bridged the gap between manufacturer and designer. Looking forward to more successful projects in the future.

The team at Nomadtika were a pleasure to deal with. Damon’s patient and informative approach to or multiple spaces and requirements was very much appreciated. We came in on Monday morning and all the works had been completed to a very high standard over the weekend. Thanks Nomadtika.
Michael Bowker | KPMG | Facilities Manager
When we have an exciting new product like ETCH specified in a high-profile job (such as BUPA) we rely on our top installers to step up. Nomadtika did exactly that. Their overall understanding of the job coupled with their planning, attention to detail and supreme craftsmanship all combined to achieve an amazing result. The speed with which they have mastered our brand new ETCH product illustrates their passion for quality finishing and gives us (and designers) confidence to continue exploring the possibilities.
Marcel Herbke | Autex Auckland Sales Manager
We really appreciated the assistance from Nomadtika with the acoustic project in the private room. They were mindful of providing a solution which long term was cost effective without compromising quality. Thanks for the great job team.
